»» LeAnne recently lost her job as a result of recurring medical problems. She is currently living on her child support payments of $410 per month. LEAVEN assisted with part of her utility payment to prevent disconnection.

»» Katie and Mike live in Appleton with their two-year-old son and infant daughter. Although they both work full-time, their combined incomes barely support the family. When their car broke down, they did not have enough money to pay the rent. LEAVEN assisted with a partial payment for rent.

»» Mike is 54 and suffers from a severe dental disease that resulted in tooth loss and inflamed his gums. He has no dental insurance to purchase the dentures he needs. LEAVEN networked with several other organizations and also contributed money to get him the dentures.

»» Mary and her baby were homeless and living at a women's shelter when they came to LEAVEN and received help to enable them to move into their own apartment by paying part of the rent.

»» Kari had surgery and was unable to work for months. Her ex-husband stopped paying childcare and left her in serious financial trouble. She received rental help.

»» Julie said she always paid her bills on time, but had become very ill and used all of her savings to pay the bills. She has applied for disability, but is waiting to hear if she is qualified. LEAVEN assisted with rent.

»» Donald is a 48-year-old man that who has lived in the same apartment for 7 years. He has always paid his rent on time. Due to an unexpected medical emergency, he was short on money and unable to pay June's rent. LEAVEN paid part of the rent.

»» Molly came to LEAVEN for help with medication. She had just lost her health insurance and needs a special medication. LEAVEN paid for a two-week supply of the medication to cover her immediate needs.

»» Jill turned to LEAVEN for help with rent and a referral for furniture to St. Vincent De Paul. Her husband recently left her and their three children to fend for themselves. Before leaving town, he closed all their bank accounts (since they were only in his name) and took all the money. Jill was left with nothing, except the charge card bills that were in her name. She works 25 hours each week at a local nursing home struggling to make ends meet. LEAVEN helped!

»» Nancy is having a difficult time trying to support her 4-year-old son and infant daughter on a very low-income salary. Because she suffers from epilepsy, she has had a difficult time working full-time and often cannot hold down a job. LEAVEN assisted with part of her rent.

»» Maggie will begin receiving disability assistance next month as the result of a health-related condition. As a result of her inability to work, the family of four has been living on her husband's salary of $24,000. LEAVEN assisted with the utility bill to help prevent disconnection.
